BLUES MAMAS MANAGEMENT

MISSION STATEMENT is to operate as a conduit between the musician and the public; providing help, promotion and education in the various forms needed by each entity. The hope is that the musician’s professional goals will be accomplished, they will be recognized for their talent; and the public will be more aware of the rich heritage of the blues art form which originated in Mississippi, The Birthplace of Americas Music.

 WHAT BLUES MAMAS MANAGEMENT DOES: Peggy and Carol work with event planners providing them musicians, promotion and consulting to make their event successful. The Blues Mamas provide musicians professional development help with CD production and issues such as BMI and Sound Exchange membership etc. They co-partner with other entertainment companies on specific events.

 EVENTS (Partial List of work with event planners and musicians)

       Pinetop Perkins Partnered with Lynn Orman, President Orman Music and Media Group,Chicago, to produce an event featuring Pinetop Perkins. This turned out to be Pinetop’s last Mississippiperformance and Willie Big Eyes Smith last performance in Mississippi.

    Honeyboy Edwards Partnered with Lynn Orman, President Orman Music and Media Group, Chicago, to present our 3 Generations of Blues show in Jackson. Musicians were Honeyboy Edwards, Grady Champion, and King Edward
  • B.B. King – Provided the band line-up for one of the B.B. King Homecoming Festival in Indianola, Mississippi 
  • B.B. King – Blues Mamas artists have opened for B.B. King in Indianola, Mississippi at Club Ebony many times.
  • Morgan Freeman and explore.org the Blessissippi Crossroads Benefit - Live Concert featuring the Cream of American Delta Blues Talent – Provided Musicians, Musician profiles, Consultation and Promotion.
  • Blues @ Home Mississippians and the Blues: The Living Legends by H.C. Porter – Blues Mamas musicians are featured in this nationally acclaimed book and art project.
  • Bill Howl-N-Madd Perry benefit for medical expenses at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, MS
  • Ben Payton benefit for medical expenses at Schimmels in Jackson, Mississippi
  • Mickey Rogers benefit for medical expenses at Club Ebony in Indianola, MS
  • Work with Radio station managers resulted in a One Million Person listener base being developed internationally which resulted in Mississippi musicians CD’s being presented consistently to the listeners.

Blues Mamas Management represent musicians who have performed in movies, syndicated TV shows and have been in national and international advertisements such as The Way of War with Cuba Gooding, Jr. (Bill Howl-N-Madd Perry) The Gene Simmons Family Jewels Show ( Bill Howl-N-Madd Perry) The Help (Rick Lewis and London Branch). The Last of the Mississippi Jukes – King Edward and many others on the Blues Mamas roster appear in this movie. Jackson Evers International Airport – On Stage Restaurant Menu features Photos of 16 Mississippi Musicians Canadian Tourist Information & Mississippi Tourist Bureau – feature Musicians in their advertisement campaigns.

 BLUES EDUCATION WORKSHOPS Have produced several Blues in the Schools events and community symposiums featuring Mississippi musicians in Jackson, Indianola, Choctaw, and Philadelphia, MS as well as Davenport, IA

 PRESS – Contributing writers for Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine. Photo shoots for magazine covers arranged. Musician/journalist interviews for major blues magazines arranged. Musicians have been profiled in many magazines such as:   Il Blues: Italy; Blues and Rhythm, UK; Red Hot Rock, Sweden; Big City Blues, US; Bluffs & Bayous, Delta Focus, Delta Business Journal, MS Delta Magazine, Portico, contact people for foreign journalists & filmmakers to meet and interview Mississippi musicians.

 RADIO – Peggy and Carol are On Air Contributors monthly for WEFT RADIO – DAVES’S BLUES SHOW Champaign, IL  

 Musicians Interviews Arranged on the air with stations such as Southern Crossroads Radio Show, XM Satellite Radio, WEFT109, Dave’s Blues Show, Thacker Mountain Radio, The Marshall Arts Hour, Super Talk Radio Mississippi Public BroadcastingThe Mississippi Arts Hour sponsored by the Mississippi Arts Commission, Australian Radio – Hamish and Andy Show as well as numerous stations in Europe.

 SPECIALTY BANDS - THE WAY OF BLUES REVUE & THE SUBWAY REVUE BANDS Blues Mamas Management has formed two Blues Revues of legendary Mississippi musicians many of whom are noted on Mississippi Blues Trail Markers. The Way of Blues Revue band has headlined a major festival, played for regional festivals and has performed at corporate events. The group showcases several “flavors” of Mississippi blues. The Subway Revue has proved itself as a great band for weddings and large clubs and blues shows.
